Boris Johnson has made his bid for the post of tory leader (Image: GETTY)
It has been reported that only a few current Cabinet members will retain their posts. The lucky few include Jeremy Hunt, the Foreign Secretary, Sajid Javid, the Home Secretary, Penny Mordaunt, the Defence Secretary and Matt Hancock, the Health Secretary. Steve Baker, the vice chairman of the European Research Group of Tory MPs is expected to be made Brexit Secretary, in a clear statement of intent from Mr Johnson that he intends to deliver on his promise to take Britain out of the EU by October 31.
One Brexiteer said: "If I were the Cabinet Secretary I would be working on where I can be the ambassador next."
Mr Baker has never voted for Mrs May's exit deal.
But Christopher Hope writing in the Daily Telegraph has described a longer list of those to be removed from their current executive positions.
These include, Transport secretary Chris Grayling, Chief whip Julian Smith, Chancellor Philip Hammond, Justice secretary David Gauke, Leader of the House Mel Stride, Local Government secretary James Brokenshire, Northern Ireland secretary Karen Bradley and Cabinet Office minister David Lidington.
