Tory MP Rishi Sunak was criticised by Irish pro-European politician Neale Richmond for Boris Johnson’s insistence on reopening Brexit talks with the EU. Mr Sunak argued that depite the EU saying a Brexit extension could not be granted, the bloc has repeatedly allowed the UK to prolong its EU membership. He added the EU has often backtracked on its redlines, concluding there was no reason to believe the EU wouldn’t reopen talks.
