Love Island 2019 bombshell Maura Higgins, 28, is said to have been in a relationship with an Irish car mechanic for nine years before she shot to fame in the villa. According to the MailOnline, the brunette bombshell’s ex-fiancé is James Finnegan. The pair were reportedly together for nine years before breaking up two years ago. A source told the publication Maura was keen to tie the knot, but James “wasn’t willing to commit”.

The insider claimed the Love Island star gave her beau an ultimatum, saying: “But he didn’t want to be tied down by children so they broke up.

“You can hardly blame Maura for wanting to take things to the next stage,” they added.

“To be with someone for nine years and not walk down the aisle is an awfully long time.”

The publication said Maura first met her ex-fiancé when she was 16 in Ballymohan, Ireland.

Following their split, she reportedly moved on to date TV director Paul Caslin before he relocated to Los Angeles.

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Maura asking for comment.
