Maya Stepney’s exit storyline on #Emmerdale revealed as #ITV producer speaks ...

Throughout her journey on the ITV soap, abuse of Jacob Gallagher (played by Joe-Warren Plant) and subsequent exposure by Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) and Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade), Maya (Louisa Clein) hasn’t once shown any remorse.

The Emmerdale teacher initially went on the run with Jacob, but with David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) discovering the truth the teenager was rescued and brought back to the village.

The next twist saw Maya beaten up by a mystery attacker, and while at first police were suspicious of David being involved, the character later explained it was actually a woman.

With tensions between David and Jacob reaching fever pitch on the soap, Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) convinced the shopkeeper to let Jacob stay with him.
