Tonight’s edition of the drama-filled and sun-soaked villa in Love Island was a complete rollercoaster for both fans and the hopefuls.

After a rocky few days between Lucie and Joe, the ITV2 couple managed to clear away the cobwebs and renew their feelings for each other.

Joe sat the 21-year-old down and wore his heart on his sleeve, telling the blonde beauty he “genuinely thought at this stage” he wouldn’t have feelings for a girl.

He went on to say he had “definitely fallen” for Lucie and he “100 per cent” knew they would be boyfriend and girlfriend one day, but it wasn’t to be.

As when presenter Caroline Flack suddenly arrived in the villa to bear the bad news to the islanders, it was revealed the public had voted to send Joe and Elma Pazar home, leaving Lucie and Anton Danyluk to recouple with someone else.

Heartbroken at the decision, Lucie broke down in tears, and Amber Gill rushed to console her.

“I’m just gutted because you can clearly see that me and Joe really liked each other,” Lucie sobbed. “I’m just gutted because everyone’s gone on friendships not compatibility of couples, and it just sucks.”

Struggling with what to do next, Lucie then tried to talk things through with Joe in the few minutes they had left, but viewers couldn’t understand the outcome.
