Iain Duncan Smith jokingly intervened to put an end to a squabble between Piers Morgan and co-host Susanna Reid after Mr Morgan took a dig at his colleague. While discussing the performance of the Tory leadership contest candidates during the televised debate held on Tuesday evening, IDS pointed out the nominees had mostly "rowed across the table and Ms Reid noted "people talking over each other is never appealing." Mr Duncan Smith conceded the format of the BBC debate was not to his liking as he admitted to struggling not to turn off the television.
He said: "I genuinely don’t think the format allowed politicians, in a sense, to shine.
