Lucy Alexander, 48, previously fronted the BBC series Homes Under The Hammer for 13 years before she exited the show in 2016. The property expert was in agreement with Twitter user, Sir Bill Taylor - a former leader of Blackburn with Darwen Council - after he spotted a bizarre moment during a recent episode of the show, where two guests sported sticky labels over their company logo T-shirts. In view of his 2,206 followers, the politician uploaded a screenshot from the show, where he pointed out the visible masking tape plastered over the two guests' tops. He queried why Homes Under The Hammer guests had to hide their company names.
He tweeted: “Why can’t anyone @bbc @bbctv @bbctv1 @BBCNWT or even Super @RogerJ_01 or @stephbreakfast, explain please…impartial BBC reporters sport branded logos, Peter the Plumber must mask up on e.g. #homesunderthehammer! @LucyAlexanderTV”(sic).
Lucy replied to his concern, as she quipped: “Looks ridiculous doesn’t it!”
Broadcasters tend to cover up logos on products and people due to the complexity surrounding free advertising and trademark issues.
