The latest version of the MI-28 attack helicopter was filmed firing a state of the art missile that can hit and destroy armoured targets at a distance of seven kilometres. The video showcases military personal arming the helicopter before a flight demonstration. Due to the secretive nature of the new weapon, the missiles themselves were blurred out.
During the video, the missile capabilities are put on display as a target is quickly obliterated after being fired upon leaving a small crater after the fiery explosion.
The Mil Mi-28NM is currently undergoing trials at a testing ground outside Russia before entering service with the Russian Air Force.
The ZVezda Star, the Defence Ministry’s broadcaster, which filmed the trials insisted on blaring out the missile completely due to its classified nature.
