Trisha Meili, known for years as the Central Park Jogger, was a woman who was raped and assaulted in 1989 by Matias Reyes, though the Central Park Five were wrongfully convicted of the crime. When They See Us on Netflix tells the story of the Central Park Five and now they were accused of the crimes against Trisha Meili, who now is a writer and advocate for victims of sexual assault. Trisha Meili now lives in Connecticut and has made a number of comments relating to the Central Park Five and When They See Us on Netflix.

Where is Trisha Meili now?

Trisha Meili, who turns 59 on June 24, lives with her husband Jim Schwartz in Connecticut, where she works as a motivational speaker.

According to Refinery29, she also works with survivors of sexual assault in NYC’s Mount Sinai Hospital and the Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford, Connecticut.

She told Shape magazine in 2018: "My hope is that by sharing my story, I can encourage survivors to accept that they are not to blame for the assault.”

She added: "It's not their fault, but rather their perpetrator's choice."

The publication also reports that she still has a number of impairments as a result of the events of April 19, 1989, when she was assaulted and raped in Central Park, losing at least three-quarters of her blood.

She has lost her sense of smell, gets bouts of double vision and balance problems and has scars on her face.
