A British Airways flight was delayed and scoured for explosive materials after a British passenger allegedly threatened to blow up the BA plane. A total of 18 Britons were hauled off the flight following the incident Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv. They were led away by security forces following the comment regarding a bomb. Some members of the all-male group are also reported to have made antisemitic jokes about fellow fliers on the flight from Israel.

British Airways passengers kicked off plane after allegedly bomb threat

Israel Airports Authority (IAA) told local media: “After they sat down on the plane, one of the members of the group said he would blow up the plane.

“The captain informed the airline in London and received an order to remove the group from the plane.”

The IAA also said passengers disembarked the BA aircraft following the incident and security teams swept the plane for explosives - but none were found, reported The Times of Israel.

The group who had been kicked off the flight were not allowed to re-board.

Another passenger who had been on the flight said he believed the bomb threat was “ill-judged humour,” according to The Independent.
