Despite a rescue operation by a Coastguard helicopter and 14 members of the Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team (MRT), the man, who has not yet been named, died at the scene on Sunday afternoon. The Police Scotland Area Commander, Chief Inspector Jamie Wilson, said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends and I would like to pass on my thanks to our colleagues at the Coastguard and also to the Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team.“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
