Prince William and Kate Middleton are now the proud parents of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met at the University of St Andrews in 2001, and were firm friends before their royal romance blossomed. Biographer Andrew Morton, in his 2011 book “William and Catherine”, delves into those early days and reveals how William dealt with “abuse of his trust”.
Mr Morton writes: “At university, William faced a problem of trust.
“He laid false trials, making up stories which he fed to those he suspected of treachery.
“The chief suspect, a female student, was ostracised by the prince and his circle.”
Michael Choong, a university friend of the prince, told the author: “Will didn’t suffer fools gladly and he detested people who sneaked on him to the media.
