Etika was known for his love of Nintendo and excitable reaction videos, which helped him amass over 800,000 subscribers across YouTube and Twitch.

The 29-year-old’s body was discovered by the New York Police Department on Tuesday after he went missing last week.

The NYPD had been searching for Etika after the YouTuber posted a video where he talked of suicide.

The video has since been removed by YouTube.

Following news of his death, fellow YouTube gaming personalities paid tribute to Etika and called on those experiencing mental health issues to seek help.

Pewdiepie tweeted: “Hard to grasp that he's actually gone, left us way too soon. You will continue to live on in our hearts. Rest in peace @Etika”.
