Stacey Dooley, 32, addressed her professional growth as a documentary filmmaker and explained why she is not afraid to challenge TV executives. The Strictly Come Dancing 2018 winner revealed she can now “draw from experience” after 12 years in the business. The star, who is reportedly dating her former dance partner Kevin Clifton, 36, said: “I feel like I’ve got the authority to have an opinion now.” After reflecting on her first TV role in BBC series Blood, Sweat and T-shirts, which she filmed when she was 20-years-old, Stacey added to Red magazine: “Blood, Sweat and T-shirts aired when I was 20.
“I’m now 32, so I can draw from experience.”
She continued: “If an exec says something that I fundamentally disagree with, I’ll say to them, 'I don’t think that’s right.
“Can we try both ways? Can we also entertain this approach, as well?’”
Stacey now fronts her own documentary series Stacey Dooley Investigates for BBC Three, in which she explores current affairs issues affecting people around the world.
The presenter is currently facing speculation concerning her personal life after hitting the headlines due to her alleged romance with Strictly professional Kevin.
However, Stacey revealed she doesn’t let opinions from “outsiders”
