UK weather forecast: UK set for overcast weather (Image: GETTY/WXCharts)
Britons were treated to scorching temperatures over the last few days but unfortunately for many, it will be a much greyer start to the week. Commenting on the forecast over the next few days, Met Office meteorologist, Alex Burkill, warned that band of rain will envelop the country this morning. While temperatures over the weekend hit 30C (86F) over the next few days the mercury will struggle to hit the mid-20sC (68F).
Mr Burkill said: “After a scorcher of a weekend it is going to be a little bit different this coming week.
“It's not going to be as warm as over the weekend and temperatures will fall.”
"That's because the really hot air is going to clear its way southeast across the continent.”
Moreover, Mr Burkill added that the north will experience some rain while in the south it will be dry but not as hot as the UK has experienced over the last few days.
