UK weather forecast: Britain is set for a summer scorcher as the mercury rockets this week (Image: WXCHARTS)
Temperatures are forecast to soar this week after a “dry and fine” start to Monday. But the warmer weather may not last as “unsettled conditions” are also predicted towards the end of the week. The turbulent outlook could bring some bouts of rain and showers as the nation approaches the weekend.
Commenting on the conditions Met Office meteorologist Becky Mitchell said: “It's dry and fine for most of us today.
“Plenty of sunshine in the forecast and it should feel rather warm as well.
“And the reason for the fine and dry settled weather is because of an area of high pressure across the country keeping any weather fronts at bay so it has been quite dry for some time now."
However Ms Mitchell added: “These weather fronts could make inroads later this week bringing some spells of rain.”
