Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have moved away from royal tradition on several occasions since getting married, at times sparking criticism from the public. But the attempts from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to "modernise" the Royal Family have actually helped attract "more money" into the UK because of increasing media attention, an expert has claimed. The E! Chief News Correspondent, Ms Bromley said: "Part of the outrage seems to stem from the recent revelation that £2.4million of taxpayers’ money has been used on renovations of their new home.
"It is a give and take relationship. For some, they are taking more than they are giving but haters do need to understand what they are doing to modernise the Royal Family has honestly been nothing short of miraculous.
"They have actually become the rockstars of the family. As a result, they are potentially increasing money coming into the UK."
The couple has also come under fire due to their growing demand for privacy in the aftermath of the birth of their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, in May 2019.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced they would not allow media or public access to Archie's christening. While the service has been traditionally private, other members of the Royal Family had previously allowed small groups of press representatives to take candid pictures before or after the ceremony.
