UK weather forecast: South east England will see up to 25 degrees (77F) on Thursday (Image: WXCHARTS)
After days of weather warnings for rain and thunderstorms, the weather is beginning to clear up. Rain in Scotland and North England will persist throughout the day as dark clouds block any sunshine from clearing the flood water. But South east England will see up to 25 degrees (77F) on Thursday as other parts of the south are expected to heat up too.
Met Office meteorologist Becky Mitchell said: “Plenty of sunshine out there first thing a bit cloudier in some areas though and for some of us we do have a scattering of showers mainly in Scotland.
“Parts of the highlands and stretching down towards Glasgow and Dumfries and Galloway a few scattered showers here.
“Also just pushing into the coast of Aberdeenshire there and northeast England but for many places it will be a dry and bright start.”
Cloud is expected to build across parts of Scotland, northern England and the Midlands as the heavy showers pour in over the course of the day.
