David (played by Jack P Shepherd) was sentenced to eight months in prison last month on Coronation Street after Nick (Ben Price) coerced him into a scam against grandmother, Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls).

Whereas Nick walked away free after admitting his guilt, David was told he would have to serve at least four months of his sentence behind bars as he already had a suspended sentence against his name.

Even though the brothers had been at war, David made his wife-to-be Shona (Julia Goulding) promise to make peace with Nick, which she has done so thus far.

Upcoming scenes on the ITV soap will see Shona struggling with David’s absence as his step-son Max Turner (Harry McDermott) becomes violent, leading her fiancé to return to the cobbles to explain the tragic reason behind the youngster’s behaviour.

David’s sentence isn’t completed yet, so his return will see Shona pay a visit to the prison with his daughter, Lily Platt (Brooke Malonie).

Coming face-to-face with her husband-to-be, Shona breaks down as she admits the extent of the struggles she is facing with Max.

Later this week, Max will be seen attacking his step-uncle Nick, before lying to Shona about taking his ADHD medication.

At her wits end, Shona just can’t understand why the youngster is being so volatile, leading David to make a tragic confession.
