Louise Minchin, 51, beat Dan Walker, 42, at a charity golf tournament on Monday, despite him being a keen golfer. Having called the victory an “unexpected bonus”, the presenter joked Dan was still peeved about losing when they got together to host yesterday’s BBC Breakfast. Uploading a picture of the pair of them with news reporter Holly Hamilton, 32, on set, Louise told her 164,000 Twitter followers: “Good morning all, the weather is miserable this morning, I think we should declare it a duvet day.” The snap showed Louise and Holly looking cheerful, while Dan appeared slightly grumpy, hiding the lower half of his face behind his script.
“I think Dan is still miffed about the trophy…” one BBC Breakfast viewers commented on the post, to which Louise replied: “Deffo.”
Earlier this week, Dan informed his own 575,000 Twitter followers Louise had won the charity event, quipping: “Borrowed clubs and shoes, she hit a tree and went in 2 bunkers on her first hole but SHE WON!
“@louiseminchin is very happy after my @SheffChildrens golf day at @hallamshiregolf and is quite keen to talk about it,” he jibed playfully.
He later shared a shot of himself and Louise, who was clutching the golf trophy, adding: “Thank you so much to everyone who supported @SheffChildrens charity gold day at @hallamshiregolf today.
