Deepika Padukone is a darling of the silver screen, known worldwide for her Bollywood roles before blasting onto the Hollywood stage with her role in xXx: Return of Xander Cage. Fans are desperate for the xXx franchise to continue, but until then Deepika has other roles in her roster. But one film she was expected to make may sadly pass her by in favour of another star.
Deepika Padukone was expected to perform in the highly anticipated remake of Satte Pe Satta, a Hindi action comes film from 1982.
The story is similar to that of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, but with an updated setting away from American frontier days.
The sequel, which will see Farah Khan and Rohit Shetty collaborate for the first time, was announced with Hrithik Roshan taking on the lead role of Ravi, held by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.
With this, Deepika was expected to play Indu, the leading lady who is tricked into marrying Ravi after he swears he only has one younger brother, when he in fact has six brothers, all of which are uncouth and uneducated.
However, reports have suggested Deepika, who was originally considered for the role based on her likeness to its original star Hema Malini, may have lost out on this role to Anushka Sharma.
