Tory MP Crispin Blunt argued that the Remainer 'alliance' was attempting to destroy Boris Johnson’s Brexit negotiating position. While at the Tory Conference in Manchester and talking to Express.co.uk, Mr Blunt attacked the opposition party and Remainers within Parliament from refusing a general election. He also attacked Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party for refusing to call a vote of no confidence against Boris Johnson in an attempt to oust him as Prime Minister.
The Tory MP said: “There is proper place if the government does not have a majority and a proper role to deal with it.
“That way is a vote of confidence and you remove the government.
“What we have got now is an extraordinary situation where the Speaker is virtually in open collusion with the opposition and the majority alliance on the Brexit issue.
“Particularly around trying to enforce the government negotiate a position that is frankly absolutely counterproductive to the UK’s overall interests.
