The announcement comes as it has been reported that the holiday firm paid close to £50million in fees over a decade. The inquiry will delve into the Thomas Cook’s accountancy firm Ernst & Young (EY) over the handling of the accounts in 2018 according to the Daily Mirror.
Rachel Reeves, chair of the Commons Business Select Committee, has vowed to grill EY over the collapse of Thomas Cook.
