UK weather forecast: Hail and thunderstorms ravage Britain – 50mph winds ...

THE MET OFFICE have forecasted more showers across the country for Tuesday with hail and thunderstorms to hit the country in the next 24 hours.

Tuesday is likely to be another wet day for most with some periods of sunshine between the downpours according to the Met Office. Weather forecaster Aidan McGivern explained that for many there will be blustery winds and showers throughout Tuesday. He went on to explain that Wednesday afternoon will see similar weather conditions with thunderstorms and hailstorms not ruled out for northern and western Britain.

He said: “Be prepared over the next few days for sudden changes I the weather no matter where you are.

“There will be some sunshine out there but there will also be some heavy downpours blown about by a brisk breeze.

“We will see sunshine then heavy ran then sunshine in quick succession virtually through Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

“Low pressure is responsible as it swept weather fronts through during Monday into Tuesday morning.

 “England, Wales, northwest England will see showers swiftly moving in.

“Western Scotland will be seeing some heavy outbreaks of rain, more like longer spells of rain and some thick cloud cover along with the strong wind coastal gales likely around the coast of western Scotland.
