Last week’s Strictly Come Dancing saw Dev Griffin and his professional partner Dianne Buswell score 27 points for their Cha Cha Cha to Dancing With A Stranger. However, he ended up in the bottom two against Viscountess Emma who the judges unanimously chose to save.
Fans have begged the BBC to release the voting data to prove Dev and Dianne were the least popular with many expressing their frustration on social media following the Sunday night results show.
Now, judge Craig has hit back at criticism of the result insisting it was the right choice.
Speaking at the Best Hero Awards, he said: “Yes absolutely, professionally the right person to go.
“If you asked me last week, I would have loved him to stay.”

Craig added to Metro.co.uk: “His blue routine, when he was the genie, was absolutely amazing.”
However, he explained this week he felt Dev had fallen short compared to Emma.
“But sadly, he failed on the night,” Craig concluded.
Both Dev and Dianne have expressed their disappointment at being voted off the series.
