Charley Webb, 31, took to Instagram to hit back at speculation about the reason behind her three-year-old son Bowie’s new look. The Emmerdale actress seemed less than impressed by claims she took her child to get a haircut after receiving negative comments about his long tresses on social media. Charley spoke out about the issue in view of her 349,000 followers yesterday. She said in a video: “Can’t believe how many messages I’ve had asking if I’ve cut Bowie’s hair because of negative comments on Instagram or online.

“No, the answer to that is no.”

The mum-of-three went on to insist it would be “very worrying” if she changed her son’s appearance for that reason.

She added: “If I was cutting my child’s hair because people were being negative, that would be very worrying.”

Addressing the real reason behind the haircut, Charley explained why Bowie wanted shorter locks.

She continued: “He had it cut because he saw a picture with short hair that was all different colours like red, yellow and blue and he wanted it to look like that.

“He thought it would change colour, obviously it didn’t, but he still loves the hair so it’s fine.”
