The Emmerdale star, who has had a fantastic run so far, with impressive routines and the highest week three score ever, admitted that he wasn’t on the reserves list when it came to any of the original line-up having to pull out or be switched up.
Kelvin joined Matt Baker and Angelica Bell on The One Show yesterday evening, where he spoke about his time on Strictly so far.
He also spoke about his love of rally driving which he’s pursued since quitting his role as Andy Sugden in Emmerdale back in 2016.
As he opened up about his successful hobby, he explained how he had one more race to complete right at the start of his training.
He confessed that: “I think the guys at Strictly were a bit worried in case I had an accident!”

Matt was quick to ask him about how he ended up on this year’s series after not being in the original line up.
It was announced that Kelvin would replace Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing, who suffered a foot injury meaning he had to withdraw from the competition.
He asked: “We all kept talking for weeks and weeks that you were a replacement on Strictly, so when did you actually find out?”
Kelvin then made the revelation that: “I wasn’t even a replacement, I didn’t even make that list!”
