Neil Jones, 37, took to Twitter to support his Strictly Come Dancing 2019 celebrity partner Alex Scott, 35, after viewers are believed to have questioned whether she was wearing a poppy on The One Show last night. The professional dancer, who sustained an injury just before the BBC programme’s live show last weekend, accompanied the former Arsenal footballer to the studios while she took on hosting duties with Matt Baker.
However, some fans were distracted while watching the duo present last night’s episode as they accused Alex of not representing Remembrance Day.
The Strictly hopeful was quick to set the record straight in a tweet shortly after the live programme aired in view of her 237,000 followers.
To prove she was indeed wearing a poppy, Alex shared a close-up image of the pin fixed to her outfit.
Although she admitted the poppy may not have always been visible because she was wearing her hair down, the sports pundit pointed it out with a red ring and arrows pointing towards the pin on the image.

She captioned the photo: “What a fun show tonight and of course I was wearing a Poppy…
“Wearing my hair down sometimes covered it… but it certainly was there.”
Neil also stepped in to defend Alex and confirm her statement to his 73,000 followers.
He retweeted his dance partner’s post and added: “Haha I can confirm even in the studio you are wearing your Poppy.”
