On Strictly Come Dancing It Takes Two, Neil Jones announced he would not be taking to the dance floor with Alex Scott this weekend. After Neil suffered an injury less than an hour before the live show, Kevin Clifton stepped in to perform the routine with Alex during Halloween Week last weekend. However, as Neil has been forced to miss out on another performance, the frustrated dancer took a cheeky swipe at Kevin’s execution of the Couple's Contemporary Choice.

During an appearance on the BBC spin-off show, Neil explained why he was unable to dance with Alex tomorrow night.

Discussing his injury, Neil said: “I’ve tried but it’s not ready yet. I’ll be fine if I rest it this weekend.”

“You nail the dance, go through and I’ll be ready for you on Monday morning,” he told Alex.

Host Zoe Ball asked Alex how it’s been rehearsing with Kevin instead of Neil.

Alex revealed: “It has been a strange week, I think going back to ballroom I’m nervous anyway because people have really critiqued me in my frame.

“My partner, I’m used to [Neil] it’s really different dancing with someone else.”

With just 45 minutes to learn the routine, Kevin struggled to remember all of the dance moves in last week’s live show.

But the former England footballer told Zoe that for this week’s dance she began rehearsing with Kevin on Wednesday evening.
