Strictly Come Dancing was a shocking affair this evening as some who were at the bottom of the leaderboard previously found themselves at the top. One couple who struggled was Anton Du Beke and Emma Barton. Their Rumba to Barbra Streisand’s Woman In Love didn’t quite score as well as they’d hoped, as they got 22 points out of 40. In particular, Rumba expert Shirley Ballas was critical of the routine, saying they had got the counting wrong.

Shirley started her feedback, saying: “First of all, I want to say, you’re tall, you’re elegant, and you have everything it takes to do a beautiful Rumba before I say what I’m about to say.

“The only timing I could read was the basic, the alemana and the sliding doors - three bars of Rumba.

“The rest of it, I have no idea on what count you were dancing this dance.”

Shirley was then booed by the audience, prompting her to say: “Hang on a minute, there are four beats, there are three steps. You have to understand that.”
