The Prince of Wales is lined up to inherit his mother’s position after she passes away and has made no secret of his willingness to to prepare for the enormity of the role. The Queen’s eldest son has seen his royal responsibilities skyrocket in recent years as he anticipates the huge life change coming his way. In the two years since the palace announced Prince Philip’s retirement from royal duties, Charles has use the void as a stepping stone to help him get ready for the appointment of his lifetime.
This year he was at his mother’s side at the opening of Parliament in October and laid a wreath at the foot of the cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday on her behalf.
But while many royal fans have little doubt in their minds about Charles’ acceptance of his future role after years of suggestions he was not comfortable with the prospect, it’s a different story when it comes to Camilla.
The duchess has worked hard to change the public’s perception of her since marring the Queen’s son in 2005.
This has no doubt been welcomed by Charles, 71, as he waits in the wings for the couple’s changing roles.

Camilla, 72, has sought to show her desire to flip public opinion by joining Charles on royal tours and also carrying out solo engagements.
In 2017 PR executive Roddi Vaughan-Thomas of OBS Communications called Camilla’s turnaround “fantastic”.
