GAME OF THRONES’ Kit Harington has revealed why Jon Snow killed Daenerys but is this still George RR Martin’s plan for A Dream of Spring?

In the final episode of Game of Thrones, Daenerys Targaryen successfully conquered King’s Landing. But when her lover and nephew, Jon Snow – the rightful heir to the crown Aegon Targaryen – entered the Iron Throne room, he stabbed her to death.

Following Dany’s massacre of King’s Landing via Drogon, you’d think that Jon was doing Westeros a favour.

But according to the star himself, Aegon didn’t enter the throne room planning to murder his Queen.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Kit Harington makes the reveal on the finale series’ Blu-ray/DVD commentary.

He said: “He doesn’t know he’s going to betray her until right at the end.”

Game of Thrones books: Jon Snow was NEVER heir to the Iron Throne

Harington continued: “In Jon’s head, it’s a number of [reasons: Dany] doesn’t factor in anyone else’s decisions.

“And it also means [Dany] is going to kill my sisters, so it becomes [my] family vs. her.”

Of course, George RR Martin still has two books to go in A Song of Ice and Fire: The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring.

So will Jon be more intentional in killing Dany by the time the final book comes out?
