The hoax was sparked when a Twitter user posted a screenshot of a WhatsApp group chat which claimed to show instructions for royal guards for a state funeral. This caused many royal fans to “freak out” while others refused to buy into the rumour and hit out at the “disgusting” stunt staged by pranksters. The 93-year-old was snapped sitting in the back seat of a Range Rover leaving the grounds of Windsor Castle on Monday afternoon.
She looked healthy and made up, donning pearl earrings, shaded glasses and a touch of red lipstick.
The palace had refused to confirm or deny the rumours of the Queen’s passing.
The public sighting of the Queen comes as she is due to host a reception at Buckingham Palace for NATO leaders this evening including Donald Trump.
