Gary Rhodes died at his home in Dubai after collapsing last Tuesday. A picture believed to have been taken just three hours before he died due to subdural hematoma, a type of bleeding on the brain, shows the late chef in great spirits.
In the photo obtained by MailIOnline, Gary can be seen with his arms spread out wide beside him whilst smiling to the camera.
Standing tall on a sand dune, the restaurateur was dressed in a pair of black trousers, matching smart shoes and a blue shirt.
The snap was taken during a day of filming for new ITV series Delicious Dubai, which is set to air next year.
Friend Jaideep Bhatia told the publication: “Who would have known that Gary would pass away so tragically just a few hours later?

“He was in the best of spirits and very excited about working on the TV series.
“He had spent the day filming on the sand dunes of Al Maha when he returned home to be with Jennie and was taken ill.”
Last week, Jaideep said Gary enjoyed a sandwich in the evening after filming but as he got ready for bed, he collapsed.
Gary’s family released a statement after he died to “end speculation” surrounding the cause of his death.
