Melania Trump helped schoolchildren to make Christmas decorations and was serenaded by a choir as she visited a Salvation Army centre in east London. The First Lady is currently in the UK with her husband, President Donald Trump, because of the NATO summit. However the festive event was soured for the American when the children she had spent time with gave her less than stellar reviews.
When asked if Mrs Trump was as good as Michelle Obama, another First Lady who had visited the UK, one girl told Sky News: “Probably not because of many reasons.”
On Melania, she said: “She was okay. I’ve never met the President so meeting the President’s wife was just crazy.”
Another girl said: “It was amazing. I met Mrs Trump.
Another class member, Quiana Mullings, aged 9 said: “The First Lady looked sad but was actually very happy.
“I’m gonna be honest and say her make-up was a bit much.
“She was telling me that she’s never had a mince pie in her life. I was like what. At the White House, apparently, it’s quite boring at Christmas.”
