Ever since Riverdale first launched two years ago, the show has had fans gripped to their seats with a combination of typical teen drama and weird out-of-the-blue plot twists. The series will return to Netflix and The CW to continue its fourth season mid-January. But is there going to be any future episodes after that or has Riverdale been cancelled?
The show has come to end for 2019 with no more new episodes being released until next year.
There are plenty of questions still left to be answered so viewers will be eagerly awaiting the 10th episode which will air on The CW on January 15, 2020.
However, as the gang is due to leave Riverdale High behind and make their own separate ways to college, there are question marks over whether the show will continue.
Unfortunately, the future of Riverdale is hanging in the balance.

The CW has yet to confirm whether Riverdale will be renewed or cancelled after season four.
But we could be finding out fairly soon as The CW usually likes to announce the renewals and cancellations of series at the beginning of the year.
According to Variety, in January 2019, the network officially renewed 10 shows for the 2019-2020 season which included Riverdale season four.
In a statement at the time, The CW President Mark Pedowitz said: “The early renewal of these signature CW series gives us a head start on laying out the 2019-2020 season”.
But what could determine the show’s return is the latest viewing figures.
