EastEnders viewers have watched Linda Carter (played by Kellie Bright) struggle in the latter half of this year after her son Ollie (Harry Farr) was diagnosed with autism. As it has become clear she has had an increasing dependency on alcohol, she ended up in hospital on Christmas Day as a result of heavy drinking. What has the mum been hiding from her family, and could she be in more trouble than she’s letting on?
Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) has had his own health struggles as he was seen suffering from a panic attack on Christmas Day after finding his wife in hospital.
The landlord has desperately tried to stop his wife from drinking whilst trying to balance his own problems with anxiety in recent weeks, to no avail.
Although Linda has repeatedly promised her husband she would refrain from drinking anymore alcohol, it was not enough to refrain her this evening.
Tonight, viewers saw Linda hit rock bottom in an episode centred around her evening at a New Year’s Eve party which gets severely out of hand.

Alongside best friend Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean), she made her way to Karen Taylor’s (Lorraine Stanley) festive celebrations, and was seen upsetting multiple residents of Walford during the evening.
Mother-in-law Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) stepped in after witnessing Linda’s behaviour and called Mick in an attempt to sort things out.
Mick arrived disappointed to see his wife failed to listen to his pleas to stop drinking, but promised to look after her.
Later on, she finally made it home with Mick by her side, but more danger was to come as she decided to go back out after he had put her to bed as well as helping herself to the Vic’s alcohol supply.
