Chris Hemsworth, 36, has made a huge donation to the Australian wildfires cause, to help fight against the huge blazes that have burnt through three Aussie states. The Australian actor pledged a whopping $1 million in aid of bushfire recovery as the disaster in his home country continues.

The star took to Instagram to announce his donation, joining other celebrities in using their platforms to try and fight the ongoing blazes.
A total of 24 people have been killed and almost 2,000 homes have been destroyed as the bushfires continue to ravage through three of Australia’s states.
Ecologists at the University of Sydney estimate around 480 million animals have perished in the flames, and some only native to the country are at risk of extinction.
In a lengthy post on the social media platform, he addressed his 38.9 million followers alongside a video of him explaining how important the donation means to his homeland.
