Matthew, 54, spoke alongside Trisha Goddard, 62, who both joined This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield, 57, and Holly Willoughby, 38, to discuss today’s headlines. With Meghan Markle, 38, and Prince Harry, 35, spending Christmas in Canada, today they will visit the country’s High Commissioner to thank them for the hospitality they were given on their trip. However, the former chat show host lost it when he addressed the royal couple making their venture abroad in an aeroplane, despite them expressing their support to battle climate change.
Since the couple married back in May 2018, there has been a huge public backlash to the pair spending taxpayers money on the ceremony and to renovate their new home.
There was uproar last year with regard to the matter, especially when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed they would be keeping their new born son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, out of the spotlight.
These issues came up as a result of a discussion about the royals trip to Canada, leading Matthew to give his strong opinion on the matter.
As well as slamming the pair for having “a set of rules” for themselves and another set for others, the television presenter brought up the backlash over the public purse.
