#BAFTAs nominations 2020: Who has been nominated for BAFTAs? Full list

THE BAFTAs have now released their list of contenders for the upcoming awards - but who is fighting it out for the top spot?

The BAFTAs, which are the film awards given by the British Association for Film and Television, are a yearly event British filmmakers are desperate to attend. So far, a huge number of films, directors, actors, actresses, writers and many other artists have been named in the nominations. So who is nominated for an award, and who looks likely to take on home after the ceremony?

Who has been nominated for a BAFTA?

So far, superhero movie Joker is leading the nominations with 11 to its name, while Martin Scorsese's The Irishman has earned 10, along with Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in .

The war epic 1917 has earned nine nominations, and the wartime comedy Jojo Rabbit has gained six nominations.

Among nominees is Golden Globe winner Joaquin Phoenix, who will be up against Adam Driver, Taron Egerton and Leonaro DiCaprio for the Best Actor gong, while Renee Zellweger is looking to be the favourite to take the award for Best Actress.
