Coronation Street’s Roy Cropper (played by David Neilson) will whack on his cape and mask in coming episodes, as he finds himself playing the hero in order to save his niece Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) from bullies. The cafe owner is riddled wth guilt, after he feels responsble for his brother Richard Lucas (Paul Bown) dying alone after having to leave him to fix a leaking freezer.
And, standoffish Nina hasn’t let him forget it.
But will she finally let him in when Roy tries to save her from thugs?
Although brief, Richard played an important part in Roy’s storyline, as Corrie fans will remember that the long-time resident was reunited with his brother after learning that his mother Sylvia had had an affair.
With the two only meeting late last year, poor Roy didn’t have much time with his estranged sibling before he passed away from pulmonary fibrosis.
