BBC Breakfast star Louise Minchin, 51, recently told viewers she had deleted various social media apps on her phone to avoid reading negative comments about herself. Following this, a Twitter user queried how a post from Louise’s official account had appeared on his timeline.
Here I am!
The Twitter user shared a post from the presenter’s account, which she shared on New Year’s Eve.
It read: “Good morning, before we get to #2020 a big thanks to everyone who took part in our #wakeuptothemenopause series on @bbcbreakfast, today we are looking at what has changed #bbcbreakfast.”
The person in question commented: “If Louise is off Twitter how did this just appear on my time line @mrdanwalker.”
A fan of Louise stepped in to clarify her social media break.

They replied: “It's not about coming off social media altogether, it's about reducing the availability of it.
“@louiseminchin said she had deleted the apps, thereby meaning it's not constantly there to tap in to, and no notifications on her phone.”
They added: “Personally, I find Twitter Facebook, so I hide or uninstall the FB app so it's not there to mindlessly scroll through, but if I need to use it then it's there via the website.
“The DM's suggestion that Louise had come off social completely is wrong.”
