Gary (played by Mikey North) took on the role of Coronation Street’s latest bad guy last year after it was revealed he was the sinister character who deliberately caused the Underworld Factory roof collapse. During his reign of terror on the ITV soap thus far, four victims have been caught in the crossfire and killed off. At this point, no resident of Weatherfield has realised just how far their neighbour has gone to keep his secrets buried. However, scenes to air later this year will see one of the deaths caused by his actions revisited, but will this lead him to make an exit from the cobbles?
After the events of Christmas Day, which saw Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) killed and troubled newcomer Derek Milligan (Craige Els) fall to his death, Gary’s friends have begun to turn on him as it became apparent he was embroiled in dodgy dealings.
Viewers have watched as the former builder has become a loan shark over the past few months after he committed murder and got rid of his predecessor, Rick Neelan (Greg Wood), last year.
This was the first and only time the villain has killed himself, as he believed his victim was a threat to then girlfriend, Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien).
Since then, his secret has stayed buried along with the criminal’s corpse, but an investigation set to play out over the coming months could lead Gary to make a sudden departure as the full extent of his dark deeds bubbles to the surface.
