Carol Vorderman, 59, has spoken out about injuring her finger in an accident when she was a child. The Countdown legend opened up about the mishap on her BBC Radio Wales show last weekend, while discussing scars with her co-host Nathan Sussex.
The mother-of-two admitted the incident left her with a “mangled” knuckle, which she still suffers from to this day.
While showing her injured “middle finger” to Nathan, she said: “I’ve got my middle finger of my left hand stuck upright, pointing at you.”
After giggling at the otherwise rude gesture, Nathan replied: “Why is that Carol?”
“It is because we’re talking about scars,” Carol divulged.

The presenter went on to explain: “Now, I haven’t actually got a scar on there, but I’ve got a lumpy knuckle, have I not?
“Because we’re talking about scars from your childhood. You won’t remember this, but in the 60s and 70s, you had spin dryers, you didn’t have a washing machine that could spin at the same time. Or you had a mangle.”
