ITV weather presenter Lucy Verasamy, 38, shared a forecast update with her 162,000 Twitter followers this week. She posted a weather map of Europe’s recorded temperatures from December.
The post, originally shared by meteorologist Simon Cardy, read: “A large low pressure anomaly covered N Europe (centred to the north of Scotland) during December.
“This resulted in mostly wet & windy weather and remarkably it was the warmest December on record in Europe (3.2C above the 30 year climate average).”
Lucy shared the post to her Twitter page, telling fans the news may be “no surprise” to some.
She wrote: “No surprises for some - but it was the warmest December on record for Europe.”
