BBC Weather’s Tomasz Schafernaker warned fresh snowfall will fall across the Alps and in Italy but things will turn milder as winds from the Atlantic turn warmer. There are “dangerous” weather warnings in place for snow and ice in Germany and Spain, according to Meteoalarm. By the end of the weekend temperatures will rocket to 15C in places.
Mr Schafernaker said: “We’re ending the week on a pretty settled note across the British Isles. Scandinavia, you can see overcast conditions there.
“Come Saturday we are expecting some fresh snowfall across the Alps and Italy.
“Mild conditions with those winds coming from the Atlantic into Scandinavia.
“Further southeast the weather’s not looking bad on Saturday with areas of cloud; relatively mild too.

“There’s snow again around the Alps but the weather’s not looking great through the weekend and into next week across parts of Spain and Portugal as storms are developing here with high winds.
“Across the UK, France and low countries high pressure is building and that means sunny skies and very settled conditions.
