Europe can expect wet and wintry weather conditions going into the new week. BBC Weather’s Susan Powell explained Spain and the Scandinavian nations would see the most extreme weather with heavy snow and rain forecast. In central Europe, Ms Powell explained there would be a persistent fog and single-digit temperatures.
The forecaster said: “The area of low pressure is likely to bring some very disruptive rain into the south of France.
“It will spread across the Pyrenees right the way down to eastern Spain in the days ahead.
“It is already in place on the latest satellite picture and the winds around it are going to cause some very choppy seas through the western end of the Mediterranean.
“It will also affect the Spanish Costas and the Balearic’s even as far east as Sardinia and Corsica could see some snow, especially over the mountains of Corsica.
