Susie Dent, 55, has been a resident lexicographer in Dictionary Corner on Countdown for the past 27 years. The Channel 4 favourite has now spilled on a move away from the popular daytime show.
The wordsmith has revealed she has taken on a brand new opportunity.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, the small-screen star spilled that she has been working behind the scenes on a spelling app for young children.
“I’m a part of team that is part of a spelling app. It sounds boring but it’s actually really fun,” Susie explained.
“It’s animated and very visual. It’s based on links. Essentially it will help kids to remember the spelling of words and it’s all done through animation.”

She added: “I’ve been working on the origin part of it. It’s called the Link A Lot app.”
In addition to the spelling app, Susie has also embarked on a nationwide tour called The Secret Lives of Words.
She commented: “My tour is going really well. I love it. When I mentioned the tour to my kids I think they thought I was ACDC.
“You know, going off for months, never to return. The lovely thing about it is I’ve been everywhere. I’ve done four or five shows this month.

“I have also taken a month off and that’s been really nice. [The show] is fresh every single time and the people who come are genuine word lovers.”
