The King of Rock and Roll spent a lot of time on the road, so had his private jets in Memphis. The most famous was the Lisa Marie, named after his only child. And now one of Elvis Presley’s pilot has revealed how he was caught sleeping in The King’s bed on board.
Speaking in a new interview with , Ron Strauss spoke of how he and the flight crew would often get calls at 2 or 3 in the morning to prepare the Lisa Marie.
Often they didn’t know where Elvis would want to go and sometimes he just wouldn’t show up.
The pilot said how the crew would often go back to sleep after preparing the plane until sunrise, knowing that if it got to that point The King would have changed his mind.
Recounting one occasion, Ron said: “By the time I got done with the stuff that I was doing, the other pilot was asleep on one of the couches [and] the flight engineer was on the other couch.”

“So I just went back there, threw my boots off, jumped in bed and pulled the covers over my head.
“I was sleeping and then the security came out and woke me up.
“‘What the hell are you doing sleeping?’ I said, ‘I was tired
