Magician Ben Hanlin shocked viewers of ITV’s Dancing on Ice when they heard he had injured himself while rehearsing a lift. He was testing the risky move with professional partner Carolotta Edwards when her skate slashed his arm. The injury has left fans wondering whether he will be performing in the semi-final tonight.
The short answer is yes - a bandaged up Ben still hopes to perform his sequences with his skating partner tonight.
In his Instagram story, Ben said: “I have cut my arm, as you can see there’s a cut there and it goes all the way up my arm and it comes out there.”
He held his bandaged arm up to the camera and fans immediately bombarded the 33-year-old with questions.
He explained: “We were doing a move, it was a Torvill and Dean move originally... I grab Carolotta’s leg, I grab her arm, she then jumps at me spins and then lands but to do that she has to put her blade close to my body.”

He said he did not require stitches but admitted the horrific injury had set him and his partner back.
Despite the injury, he is still expected to perform in the semi-final and it will be interesting to see how he is recovering.
He is still determined to give everything he’s got to stand a chance of coming out on top against his fellow competitors.
He will be skating against Paralympic sprinter Libby Clegg, Diversity star Perri Kiely and former Eastenders actor Joe Swash.
